Rob Sinclair, CEO at Altia said, “I’m delighted to form this partnership between Altia and GSA and I’m incredibly excited about what we can achieve, together, when it comes to the investigation-critical area of communications data.”
“Our aim at Altia is to give investigators seamless access to an integrated suite of investigation tools, making them not only more efficient and effective, but also providing the most comprehensive view of their investigation in one place. By partnering with GSA we’ll be able to integrate communications data into every investigation being managed on the Altia platform.”
Paul Smith, MD at GSA said, “All criminal activity uses devices of some kind, so quick and easy access to communications data is always absolutely critical. Our solution, CycComms, is already used by more than half of all police forces in the UK and is proven to have a dramatically positive impact on investigators’ ability to access, process and use this data.
“With GSA and Altia working together it’s a unique opportunity to extend this capability to more forces and more investigations and we are looking forward to working together.”

Geoff Smith Associates Ltd (GSA), is a family-owned business established in 1997, which produces software solutions for police forces and the public sector. The company is based in Bardon, Leicestershire and employs over 80 staff including a large team of developers and ex-police force staff.
The business was started by the late Geoff Smith, who was a police officer in Leicestershire for 30 years; most of that time was spent dealing with crime. Towards the end of his career in 1991, he was asked to look at specifying a networked computerised crime and intelligence system, to take us into the 21st century. At this time almost everything was either paper based or standalone ‘green screen’ systems.
